Wirral A vs Liverpool A (double header)

Results:

Match 1: Wirral A lost by 2 sets to 1 ~ 16-25, 25-22, 13-15

Match 2: Wirral A lost by 2 sets to 1 ~ 25-18, 9-25, 9-15

The final home matches of the season for our ‘A’ team in a duble header against old rivals Liverpool A. We had a strong team out including a welcome return for Kerry and should have really enjoyed the fixture but it all fell a little flat. Our girls played some nice volleyball, and served, passed, blocked, hit and chased strongy on occasion, but couldn’t find any consistency and made too many unforced errors. We lost the first match (of the double header) narrowly in the third set and looked to have the second match in our pocket after a strong performance in set 1 of the ‘away’ leg, but just when we should have pulled away to win an inexplicably bad run of errors gave a tiring Liverpool A a win 25-9 in set 2. Our girls never really got going in the final set and we went down by 2 sets to 1.
