It’s wonderful to get back into club volleyball. Our first sessions last Wednesday was a great success with an excellent turnout (only a little below the maximum permitted under current guidance) and lovely weather. We plan to continue regular sessions at Higher Bebington Road, the next two will be on Wednesday April 7th and Sunday April - both from 2.00-4.00pm. All sessions continue to be subject to COVID guidance - see outline below.
We hope to be able to continue Sunday sessions until July (weather permitting) but we’ll need to find an indoor venue for our midweek sessions at least until June when the evenings are light and the weather a bit warmer.
Detailed guidance has now been issued by Volleyball England:
- A COVID officer must be appointed for each session
- Registration list must be kept for track & trace
- Maximum of 32 participants on two courts
- ball wipe/ hand sanitise every 30 minutes
- no sharing of food or drink
Another benfit from the ending of lockdown will allow us to restart indoor sessions from April 11th once we can get a sports hall booking. These sessions will be subject to to social distancing rules and restricted to Juniors (U18). We are seeking a regular weekly booking for club training at Wirral Grammar GIrls school on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 8:00pm starting later in April.
